Hi there! My name is Robin. I’m 16, turning 17 this July.
This is my first post on this blog.
Recently, I am being shaken by my own mind on something that really concerns me. I am an incoming college student and my course is filmmaking. Ever since I was young, I wanted to be a filmmaker. When I got my first DSLR in high school, I started playing with it, filming movies with my friends and trying to be extraordinary. I knew that this is what I want to do as my career in life.
In the last couple of days, I had a feeling that part of me was incomplete and missing. After some time, I decided to just ignore whatever it is that’s bothering me that I am not aware of.
It is my habit to go to the internet to find entertainment, particularly in YouTube. I like to watch these how-to videos on filmmaking. Sometimes, I end up watching Conan O’Brien do his thing and cat videos, but most of the time, I like to learn. I love to learn new ways and techniques to improve my filmmaking abilities.
I came across this YouTuber who has 30,000 subscribers. In the first video I saw of him, he discusses cinematography hacks; how to determine the lighting in a scene and composition. After watching tens of videos of him explaining these how-to’s, I looked into his bio and video list. He’s still a student. I realized that as he makes these videos, he learns it first, then shares it to the whole world, so as his videos grew, so is his craft and knowledge in filmmaking. I checked out his film channel, the films were great but you can tell that he is still starting. He has a website where you can see his video reels.
After checking out all of his works and links, suddenly an idea came up to me and removed my doubt. I need to start a blog.
So… here we are.
In this blog, I want to share with you my films and the stories that come with them, my photography skills, and my writing.
Thank you for reading my story. R
